For their first duo encounter, drummer Phil Haynes came to stay at The Tavern, Pleninger’s blossoming art research center in Stone Ridge New York. The two performed the night of Hayne’s arrival for the weekly Sound Bath & Solo Series, which shaped the format of their improvisation. During the performance, visual artist John Ackerman captured the moment through live painting.
